Harness the power of your own body in the form of PRP and growth factors extracted from your blood. PRP is a powerful, natural tool that can be used to promote hair growth as well as prevent further hair loss.
What is PRP used for?
One indication for PRP is treatment of thinning hair and hair loss. This is a common concern for both men and women caused by deactivation of normal and health hair follicles. As this occurs the follicles produce progressively smaller and thinner hairs. PRP can help improve hair density and thickness through stimulating the underactive hair follicles through a number of factors. Unfortunately this is not an effective treatment for baldness.
What should I expect with my treatment?
Your treatment consists of two parts.
Our clinic nurse Jose will perform a blood draw with a small needle to obtain a vial of blood. This is then put into a centrifuge which spins the sample around and separates it into components. The Platelet Rich component is then drawn up into syringes for reinjection.
Seated in our comfortable procedure room nurse Jose will use very small microneedles to reinject micro aliquots of your own serum into your scalp. We use the smallest gauge needle possible to minimize your discomfort and suggest you take 2 tylenol before your appointment. Expect to be in the clinic for 45-60 minutes
What to expect after your treatment
Following your treatment you may notice some very small red marks from the micro needles which will usually fade within 24 hours. You may have a few droplets of blood after as well. Most people require a minimum of 3 treatments spaced about 1 month apart and we encourage an annual treatment after this to maintain your regrowth. Results are not immediate but occur gradually over the following weeks to months. Most, but not all, patients will experience some hair regrowth and results may vary.
Is PRP safe
PRP uses your own plasma so an adverse reaction is exceedingly rare. The most common complications include mild bruising and redness following the injection.
What is the cost?
Individual treatments are $500+HST with a package of 3 priced at $1300+HST. We highly recommend at least 3 treatments to see results.
